There will be because we’re as good as relegated without any. They know it, don’t worry about that and Roy is the last of the sh1t takers.

I wish that we had more information on this. When you're told that we are nearly 80% already spent due to staggered payments & wages then there doen't appear to be any wiggle room as we need to run the club on the remainder.

Told by whom as I haven't seen anything in the media apart from guesswork

The sale of Zaha will bring in money for transfers, so no need to worry.

Out of interest is there a similar video anywhere on the state of Brighton's finances?

That’ll do nicely!

No, there isn't (he only honoured us and West Ham with that), but he did do an analysis of Brighton's (Championship) accounts on Price of Football. I've only skim read it, but it would appear that, despite eye-watering losses, everything in the Sussex garden is rosy because Uncle Tone just throws in another wheelbarrow of cash when they run out. Despite his interest in the notes to our accounts I couldn't see any reference in his analysis to the auditors note in theirs that Brighton and HA is not a going concern (although I may have missed it).

Fair enough. It was mentioned on the BBS years ago by 'CPFC2010' so I've no idea what context it was in.

Good video, but when all this is said and done, we still have a squad MORE than capable of keeping us in the top flight for another season.

The players that have gone, were pretty much replaceable and whilst contributed last season (most notably Cabaye, they CAN be replaced with existing squad members).

The ONLY concern for me is lack of a striker and keeping Wilf from the vultures...if we do that then pulling in the purse strings for a season whilst making prudent signings of up and coming talent will do me just fine.

We've overpaid for mediocre talent for too long; Mutch, CYLee, Sako and Cabaye's wages combined should see us save close to ¼Million pounds A WEEK!

If we can also drop Wickham then that would be an added bonus

It was, but Mr Parish wasn't appointed as a director until 2003:

quite a good summary of the finances and with a wage bill of 78% of all revenue it shows there is little left for player purchases. And these contracts will be over a number of years so the wage bill for the next few years is also pretty much the same unless we sell players and/or don't renew contracts.

Also for those who argue we are making a profit - this is partly accounting principles. Purchases e.g. benteke are split over the length of contract, so £7m a year over 4 years whereas sales e.g. Bolaise and Gayle and accounted for immediately, so c£35m.

This has greatly boosted our bottom line profit. It was the same when we got promoted in 2013 - we made a profit due to the Zaha sale.

So whilst there is nothing to worry about in the short term with c80% of income from TV we desperately need to stay in the Premier League

Thanks - it will be interesting to see the analysis of their first Premiership season.
