I guess just look out for what witch-doctors used to do in the developing world and then fast-forward that to the West. Not sure they had office supplies, think more of rusty home-made tools.

Yeh, they get them to start practicing fighting when they are still in primary school. Force them to punch each other. It's why they are so good at bare knuckle. I have seen this in a TV documentary and I think it is quite well established as a fact.
