Winnable... famous last words. Maybe deja vu. Didn't they beat us first game of the season when the last time they came up? I seem to remember watching the game in bar in Girne with some South Yorkshire tourists.

This operation, will make the 'Charge Of The Light Brigade' seem like a simple military exercise. |

I guess it's a reasonable spread of fixtures, but April 24 looks a tad risky if we're still sub 40 points by then. The two Manchesters and Liverpool are in the mix.
Dad and I watched games standing on the muddy slope of the Holmesdale Road end. He cheered and I rattled. |

Sheffield United - we win 4 points from 3 games would be a good start

I kid you not. I arrived at work this morning to see a selling-off of garden shears and secateurs in 'staff shopping', so I bought one of each. If only I'd recognised this as an omen for our opening fixture (v 'The Blades') I might have put a bet on, presumably at around 19-1 (or 38-1 for an away game). For me it's a nightmare start against a team that no doubt will be well up for it in front of a passionate crowd.

Didn't we get a promoted team last time (I'm not looking it up)? The issue is they're still playing well, still happy from promotion. It takes a few games for them to start getting back to the reality of the Premier League. Last season we opened against Arsenal - the opening fixture in the entire Premier League in fact. Two seasons ago we were trounced by Chelsea, then our opening home fixture was against newly-promoted Brentford, who had trounced Arsenal in their first game!
