Personally I think PL clubs only accommodate away supporters because the League tells then they have to & stipulates a minimum amount (IDK for sure but I think its 2000 seats or a %age of the ground capacity) - Newcastle for example have away fans up in the second / third tier without even allowing pitch side access)

The AW has been the go to section for non season ticket allocation for some considerable time, I know when I could only get home for 2 or 3 games a year AW behind the gantry view was pretty much the best I could hope for.

For sure all fans deserve better but the long & the short of it is if you don't have a season ticket your feeding on scraps & as long as the PL can fill every stadium it probably wont change much.
