Dutch expert just on talk sport had nothing but praise for De Boer and said he wants to attack like Cryuff and defend like LVG.

I'm sure SP spoke to LVG about De Boer when he was in England recently.

A month ago De Boer vaguely registered. In taking his time Parish has secured an excellent prospect. He has been very canny. We are in the Premiership still mainly through the fates and luck. Our squad deserves a great manager to get the best out of them. Top managers aren't going to hop into bed with a relatively undistinguished club without considering other options and the upheaval and logistics. May sound mercenary but that is the way it is.
The scatter gun approach we are normally associated with has been fun and depresssing in equal measure but Parish has been shrewd and played an absolute blinder. We are a grown up Premiership club and Parish realises we need to start acting like one and has done so. He has shown tenacity and maturity, yes a lot learnt from previous mistakes. Bed wetting about timings when someone of the quality of Parish is negotiating such a high grade candidate does him a disservice

You could say that. Your on every thread lol. It's an exciting appointment but it's not official. There's many deals and managers that have been close to signing and didn't. I sure this won't happen but this is Crystal Palace after all.
