Very good points - I think its a bit of a balancing act between aqueezing more money out (yes, pure greed), waiting for a higher status club to enter thenbidding, and signing with Palace knowing he will be first name on the team sheet, and wanting to start preseason.

I love the phrase 'mercenary looking for another mill or two'. I'd be pretty mercenary for another mill or two. Why not be? In practice he went from a bigger club than us to Liverpool, presumably to fulfil ambitions. Ambitions that we are not particularly likely to deliver. I guess when you're in that place, you might just want another mill or two. If you want to live in a world full of kindness, respect and love, try to show these qualities.

I expect Benteke is on holiday and not likely to cut his holiday short when it's Crystal Palace and about 5 weeks till the season starts.

I also expect his contract to have lots of details that need ironing out and he'll be happy to stall until he's back from hols to see if anyone bigger/richer decides they want him. I don't think they will.

Benteke went from a bigger club than us at that moment to an even bigger club. Its fair to say that it hasn't worked,so Liverpool should be prepared to take a loss on what they paid. If as reported he wants a pay rise to join us then I'm sorry but id rather we bought someone else.The premier league money has gone up,but everybodys has gone up, so there is no advantage buying from premier league (hence £28 million for Bolasie).
