The win against Brentford was just about essential and I was delighted but mainly relieved. But when we can put a run of 3 or 4 wins on the trot is when I'll start celebrating. One swallow doesn't make a summer and that win doesn't mean that all is now OK. Both our best players are very vulnerable to injury and to rely soley on their partnership to score with no real plan B is rather risky don't you think. At the risk of repeating myself, I've not seen any suggestion from anybody on here that they think that is the case ! 3 or 4 consecutive wins in this league is a hard ask. Not many teams capable of doing it. Take most clubs best players away and they struggle unless they have the financial resources to maintain a squad of size and quality.

And they are hardly the best teams in the league Spurs 5th., West Ham 6th. The other two have had exceptional results, but you would associate a consecutive winning run of 3+ games with the upper echelons of the league. I don’t think you realise how competitive the Premier League is. Wasn’t it you that suggested giving our fringe players a start against the “ weaker teams “ in the league ? And who would they be then ??
