True. When 8-0 down we kept singing “we’re gonna score in a minute” got a pen and Geoff Thomas missed. Happy days, especially at Villa Park later that season.

Contrast losing 10-0 to Liverpool or 4-1 Fulham to losing 4-0 to Sunderland in 2017. You guys talking about the Liverpool game sound like the real deal and I'm sure you remained if you were there, but the stadium emptied out after half time. Only the HF remained in numbers, it was practically empty around me in the Arthur.. I've got to say that's pretty damning but I hope expectations have been tempered well enough that that wouldn't happen again, we aren't owed anything and I hope the fans understand that and get behind the team regardless. (FWIW I think we do have a great chance tomorrow)

Yep. Also recall some still singing 'score in a minute' well after the whistle too. That game started a bit of a run - semi-final then next game at Selhurst & I think we also beat them home & away the following season (91/2)?
Will this be five? It's gonna be five! It IS five! |

Second the 4-1 to Sunderland although appalling behaviour by those who walked out actually probably 2/3ds of us stayed.

Well, i Guess the HF demanding to move to the centre of the block isnt so bad after all. It's all relative I guess...

My bad on the Liverpool scoreline. We didn't manage to score against Sunderland though Interestingly the 2/3rds that stayed are probably the 2/3rds that would be there in the championship, sounds about right to me.

I have to say the atmosphere's been on the wane for a few seasons now. In our promotion season it was rocking, we even got beaten by Fulham 4-1 I think it was, it was still rocking... Anyway from 15 through to 18 I have to say I think the HF have largely been propping up the atmosphere. (Most of) The rest only sing when we're winning. If the HF aren't going to contribute anymore, even as a disparate group, I don't think it's gonna be any different from any other pl club now. I think you have hit the nail on the head
