So team looking like this so far: Wayne Hennessey Subs: Julian Speroni, Scott Dann, Jeffrey Schlupp, Jason Puncheon, Bakary Sako, Connor Wickham I think FdB might surprise you with who he selects. I don't see Riedewald being a starter for one thing. It's going to take him time to adapt.

We could definitely do with a good upgrade, but I don't think the Welshman is that bad.. I would probably say that Ward is the weakest link. The number of times he gave the ball away last season, allowed players to get past him because he dared not approach them and didn't create enough good chances, influenced the level at which palace could play. I'd agree and go as far as to say that Ward isn't premier league standard. If FDB does indeed plan to set Wilf free further forward and even further relieve him of defensive duties, then right back is the most important position to get a capable player in.

Ward & Puncheon not good enough. Sorry but your argument is flawed. yes they are good enough, just about, for a good ol relegation scrap each season or for the bench as back up. As for first teamers in a side aiming for top ten of the most competitive league in the world? no chance. Perhaps punch may surprise us in a new pass n move style of football, but I don't see Ward adapting to greatly.

I agree, he will be eased in the first season, used Kelly role last season, injury to Luka cover cdm, injury to Tomkins used as LCb. This guy got potential but he's a reserve Ajax player, it's unlikely he'd be put straight in the prem line up.

Punch should only be a back up winger. I have lost count of how many times he slowed the play time/gave the ball away/lost it in a dangerous position over the last few years. He is not prem quality in central midfeild; I am amazed how still got into the team.

So with punch being Capt, Ruben must be a bench player?

I think things will start moving once we get back to the UK. Difficult to get players over the line when everyone is away in the far East.
