We frustratingly seem to like an albatross hanging around our necks during the first quarter of a season. Last year we set all sorts of negative records and this year we haven't scored at home yet. Losing to Liverpool and Southampton is fine in the grand scheme of things but it does annoy me we can't even pull a goal back. It just means the next match you have the inevitable moaners talking about "Don't see the point of paying for a season ticket we never score at home" etc. At least kill that vibe dead ASAP. Correct & only the second time in our history that we have failed to score a goal at home in the 1st 3 games. Let’s hope we don't set another record v Wolves (awaits stato alert ref!) In answer to the OP, I'm happy with our points tally so far & whilst it could have been higher had we taken our chances at Watford & Sakho hadn’t shut his eyes on Saturday, it’s 7 more compared to the same stage of last season.

Trouble is we need to pick up points at home against teams like soton and Newcastle, our next 2 games are Bournmouth away and wolves at home - both of which look tricky. Followed by everton arsenal Chelsea spurs and man utd.....

Let's say we manage 1 win in those, we could be on 10 points from 13 games, which to be fair, isn't that bad either.

Agreed. To answer the OP question I am not surprised it's Palace! nothing surprises me that's why I love the club. Supporting this great club of ours is never boring. to answer the OP question... no im not, i was suprised by our start last season, but i didnt really see us doing any buisness over the summer that made me think we would be any stronger than last season.

I am of this opinion as well. Guaita hasn't featured as a result of Hennessey's improved form, Kouyate has just recently come into the team,Meyer hasn't started a game and Ayew was only introduced after Benteke (One goal since Jan and that a penalty) got injured.

lots of interesting posts and yes i thought we would have more points, the upside is we do have a better squad, once everyone knows each others game, maybe we will look like beating anybody, but do hope one of our strikers starts hitting the net,we need that big time and 15 goals is a good return.

Just over a point a game isn’t the end of the world, but f**k me how boring have the last 2 home games been? Can’t see us playing many worse teams than Southampton or Newcastle. Spot on - this ladies and gentlemen is mid table mediocrity we probably will have!! Where luck can either make it exciting or nerve wracking for a season! Finishing the season on 46-48 points and not worrying about the last 5 games! However - the atmosphere can either make or break the enjoyment for a lot of people!! Those 2-2 draws at home to Everton and Burnley will need it!
