Why don’t we ever get a ball into the box?

I love seeing Wilf beat a man but sometimes just whipping a ball into the box is how it’s done. I honesty think shearer or Wright in there prime would struggle to score with the service from this side.

On a positive, we’ve been much better the last 15-20 mins, much more aggressive and we are better for it.

20 minutes to get into the game and since then it’s been pretty even. Why oh why do we start home games so badly.

Zaha is having a mare but they are overloading our left. If we had a proper winger on the right then we would expose their defence. Meyer is not providing a threat, I would take him off, move Ayew out right and put Tosun on. We can’t do any worse than lose, which we are going to do with this set up. Also if Ayew goes out wide it means him and Wilf can swap. We need to do something to disrupt their defence which is dodgy to say the least.

Finally, Xhaka, 6 fouls, two of them professional, no yellow card.

Is Wilf still injured? Everything he touches today is turning to sh*t. Meyer is not offering much in the way of attacking threat. McCarthy holding no prisoners but poor free-kicks. Kouyate best player for us so far. I'd take Meyer off for Tosun and put Ayew on the right so we have a threat from both sides. Kelly looking like a centre-half as per usual.

My forecast was based on Wilf contributing and that was not a £80m first half, sadly.
