I think the worrying thing is here we are just 17 days away from our first PL fixture and we do not have a first team squad that can survive in the PL. I know friendly games do not matter in terms of results but it is worrying that we are still making mistakes at the back and we still do not have a midfield dynamo or a proven striker who can score on a regular basis at PL standard. Whilst I want to be optimistic on our future, however, at the current point in time it does look so good and is of Don't worry I'm sure there's quite a few sets of fans of different clubs who are thinking the same. Still more than a month of the transfer window left and I feel we've made a decent start in what has been a slow start for many. We could have a couple more in by next week.

Also, while not based on last night, I am not sure they are wholly wrong. An inexperienced coach and un-gelled team will take a while to adjust and the early games will prove difficult for the low of patience. But we should be fine by next May.

We still require at least one if not two pacey defensive midfielders. We still get caught by the ball over the top and current midfielders seem to lack the pace to cover this

and ideally another CB and a LB All doable IMO and we have the time. Also we don't know who else Dougie may have lined up when planning this window.

Eze will be out until the New Year i believe so pretty pointless listing him at the moment. Clearly it was a friendly but the squad is looking a bit thread bare and that's a reasonable comment to make

With our very tough early run of fixtures, I wonder if it might be better to have a team that is a bit of work in progress, than if we went into the season with our number one all transfers completed squad - then got turned over anyway by Chelsea Man City & Co
