Considering the only time we've scored v these was Wilf pulling a wonderful curler out his arse in an otherwise tight game, I just don't see how we break them down - if indeed that is what the game comes down to and not them pinning us back and their intensity doing a number on us. Thomas Frank is a wonderful coach imo, nothing but respect for the team he's built and how well organised they are.

Saying all that, I can't believe we will keep going without wins and goals and without any reason to believe so, I think we'll actually see a proper midfield this weekend. I'd start Ayew up front to press them and have Olise and Eze either side if Wilf is still dead.

2-1 us, somehow

It's weird, everything points to a win for Brentford but I also think we'll win. Sometimes when teams are on a run like Brentford are it is a fixture that you expect them to win that they slip up in. One oddity is that we both got 1-1 draws last time out in games where VAR made a mistake on an offside.

1-2 Palace. Lokonga and Olise with the goals.

Crystal ball time.
0-0 with 2 minutes added time left. Brentford 36 attempts, 24 on target all saved MOTM Guaita. Palace no attempts whatsoever.
The time is now or never. Guaita rolls the ball out to Guehi, who instead of playing square passes a short ball to Schlupp, sitting deep in his own half. Schlupp swivels his hips, drops a shoulder, turns on a sixpence and is away from his marker in a flash. Skipping past numerous challenges and with the crowd urging him to shoot, he instead plays an sumptuous pass with the outside of his right foot perfectly into the galloping path of Jordan Ayew, whose first time chip to the far post is met by Eberichi Eze who has just dashed a full 40 yards to arrive at the perfect time to meet the cross and who rises majestically above everyone else to send a thundering header into the top corner of the net. The Brentford fans are silent, the Palace fans ecstatic. It's already being called the goal of the decade by the pundits. The ref checks his watch and blows for full time.

Grasping at straws I know, but Lokonga will have had a couple of weeks to familiarise with the Palace system and with Decoure could provide some defensive energy and resistance? A draw is possible, but not likely

Would like to see this

Guaita

Clyne Andersen (hopefully) Guehi Mitchell

Lokonga

Doucoure Hughes

Olise Mateta Eze

Mateta gets in the side purely because he'd be useful defending set pieces against a side who are decent at them.

I have predicted a draw (Still torn between 1-1 and 0-0 !), however my record of prognostications which turn out be accurate is dire in the extreme.

In the final analysis I will be content with a point. An average of a point a game until the end of the season will ensure that we remain in the PL.
