One more year is not the worst idea. Ideally would like someone like Potter but if he wants to take a break and join after 1 year Roy for another season is not a bad idea. Everyone seems to enjoy playing for him. Heard Andros Townsend yesterday on Talksport saying how good Roy was to him. Others have also said the same like Eze.

He knows us and we know him

It wont just be a year of standing still we will go down then Southgate will take over and we will be a mid table championship and end up like reading and Blackpool..We will never progress guarantee it. I certainly won’t go to a game next season. If I was a investor or one of the investors I’d pull out would serve parish right Edited by EagleAlan78 (20 Jun 2023 8.27pm) Edited by EagleAlan78 (20 Jun 2023 8.29pm)

All you need to do is look at what tony bloom has done at Brighton. A real shame and disgusting that they are now a much bigger and better club than us now. I’m ashamed to see the day but unfortunately nothing proves me wrong other than to see that. We have zero ambition it’s very clear. You’re deluded if you think otherwise. These clubs were in the Premier League when we got promoted: Cardiff, Hull, Norwich, Southampton, Stoke, Sunderland, Swansea, West Brom. Any of them would swap in a heartbeat. And yeah, we're doing it on a budget: [Link] But the club still isn't making money ... so where does all this finance for the next step come from?

Plenty of clubs on a lower budget seem to do better than us. Maybe if we had achieved better finishes and had ambition we would have made more money. All you need to do is look at Brighton Brentford etc. Sides that want to do well. We’re still stuck with a 76 year old manager after being in the division for 10 years trying to stay in the f***ng league. I’ve had a season ticket for 30 years and this next season I am not gonna bother going. What’s the point in giving the club money when they don’t want to progress we will always be in this position with a crap budget if every year we just want to stay up. Hopefully when we are bottom in February more fans will refuse to turn up. We will look like Sunderland and Blackburn at the end of their premier league years. Every time there’s a chance of aiming higher parish throws a spanner in the works cause he has to control managers even though he has the footballing knowledge of a wet paper towel

But then again, I’d bet you’d change your tune if we had a Thai sugar daddy or a Saudi consortium loaded with money backing us ip, right? Edited by Alexi_the_Eagle (20 Jun 2023 10.37pm)

we are a loss making company with billionaire owners not willing to bankroll the club. The ambition for us is to clear the debts and run a sustainable football club. (Boring I know). In the last 10 years, we have Whilst I admit Parish makes mistakes, I do sympathies with the ambitions of the fan base vs no funds. The net debt is -£100m. In Parish seeking investment he has unfortunately divided the board room. Textor is a smokescreen for other US investors & has no money for Lyon So in summary (and sorry if I depress you all). We ride out the premier league The End

We ride out the premier league The End I appreciate your post. Makes a change a post that makes a point instead of just sucking up to parish. I still think parish should do more. Even by getting someone like potter who has done well on small budgets in the past like at Brighton, Swansea, and ostersunds. If what you have said is the case then why don’t they all sell up instead of holding us back. What’s the point in even playing any more matches under there ownership if all we’re gonna do is the same or worse each season. Absolute waste of money going. I do understand your points I still think we are well underachieving even in the position you say we are in. Ecspecialy after 10 years the cup has just papered over the cracks for awful league finishes Edited by EagleAlan78 (20 Jun 2023 11.16pm)

Responsibility Deficit Disorder is a medical condition. Symptoms include inability to be corrected when wrong, false sense of superiority, desire to share personal info no else cares about, general hubris. It's a medical issue rather than pure arrogance. |
