I am not at all sure the Loyalists/Unionists will take to being extricated from the UK on this huge issue well.

Another step on the long road to a United Ireland it looks like.

Put in plain economic speak Ireland cannot afford a United Ireland without the UK's help.

Vatican etc aren't part of island nations not physically connected to the part of the Vatican in question. That's also a matter for the governments of those states to determine. They don't have part of the country doing one thing and another part doing something different.

Lichtenstein is also a member of the EFTA and EEA. Andorra is in the customs union, and so both have to abide by the rules applicable to members.

If the UK is saying it will ensure continued regulatory alignment with Ireland in NI and that the UK will not have a de facto border in the Irish Sea then it stands to reason that the whole of the UK will continue to ensure regulatory alignment with the EU. Hardly "taking back control". It's actually giving it away.

I see Nigel F is refusing to give up his EU pension even after Brexit and which will come out of the £50billion. Good to know he has principles and is looking out for the UK and wasn't just on some ego-driven personal crusade without giving a sh1te about other issues just as long as he 'won'.

And/Or Ireland reasonably didn't see why they should suffer disproportionately economically compared to the rest of the EU after Brexit.

Looks like the UK has conceded yet again to EU demands as NI will remain in the Customs Union. The next of many u-turns will be for the rest of the UK to concede and remain within the Customs Union. Candy from a baby for the EU 27.

I agree. I see only 3 courses of action:

1. bend over and give the EU all it wants just to leave (and I'm not sure what the UK gets from that deal)

2. tell the EU to do one, and just go for a hard Brexit on a point of principle (I would like to see us pay whatever we actually owe even in this eventuality, but not a penny more, and we can stop negotiations right now). If the EU then insists on a hard border between the two Irelands, that's their problem

3. Decide not to continue with Brexit at all, but retain all our veto rights and be much more of a selfish pain in the @rse going forward - agree to NOTHING not directly in our interests (tough to sell to the electorate)

Ha ha ha you couldn't make it up...the biggestnnlying c*** this country has seen for years,with countless blood of dead soldiers and civilians on his hands.

Regardless of your opinions on immigration etc. I can't be the only one who feels a small sense of sadness at the prospect of a border between Ireland and the UK. Even if it only ends up being between the Republic and the rest.

Call me a remoaning snowflake but I love that country.
