No more examples of what happens in Cornwall representing universal experience then.

As there never have been any such examples there can’t be any more!

I wouldn’t think there are any experiences from anywhere that could be truly described as universal. Similar perhaps.

Oh but it is & it's what normal people laser in on mundane daily things like transport costs, gas, groceries, rent/mortgage how much your kids school uniform is going to cost this year etc.

That lots of people do it doesn’t mean it’s good enough!

It’s what fuels the constant idea that any change must be better than what we have. It’s the “greener grass” syndrome. It’s now in play in the UK and many other places as a consequence of the difficulties being faced which are blamed on incumbent governments whilst oppositions only have to make promises.

Really? No points made about Cornish hospitals proving everyone else wrong? Immigration in Cornwall proving the same? Cornish unemployment? It must have been someone else posting those.

It might be a common perception but it’s actually a naive response to a problem than demands more.

How are such things universal? They are merely examples which suggest that some other perceptions aren’t accurate and that issues seen elsewhere can be found there too. Who knows if the same exists everywhere in the UK let alone in every corner of the world.

A lot of people don't have time to worry about too much more as they struggle to survive, pay the bills and feed and clothe their families day to day. That's what matters - despite the babyish narratives being pushed by our governments.

Then stop disagreeing with everyone else because the situation in Cornwall is, in your view, different.

Exactly. Politicians and the media can count the number of angels on pin heads and come up with lawyer speak BS but most people look at their own situation and have a gut feel are they better or worse off.

As I don’t there is no need to take this advice.

I know that is the reality but that fact doesn’t mean it produces wise decisions. It means we yo yo from one thing to another instead of plotting a steady course.

I would have thought that whatever is genuinely better for the people is perhaps best decided by them. This is US politics thread, we've had reasonable Americans post that they were better off under Trump. Every American I meet reckons they were better off under Trump. The world is now starting to see that they were also better off with Trump.
For the average person: inflation is out of hand, crime is off the scale, immigration is not a problem at the borders anymore - it's in their own backyards, the US is failing at foreign policy. Add that to Joe's clear inability to do anything at all - even when reading a script, and it's clear that people's choice will be Trump.
That Hollywood A Listers and BBC luvvies don't want him means we are not getting the true feelings of the people reflected in the press. The election would currently be a landslide for Trump.
