Just watched the highlights it was a poor Charlton team with a load of trialists and junior players. However Zaha seemed to play with a smile on his face. It could mean of course he is confident of getting his move to a big club or maybe he is happy because of Eze joining and taking some of the pressure of him. It must be frustrating when you are a talent to be in a battling side where everyone expects you to produce the magic there must be times when you think "c'mon what about one of you guys". If the big move doesn't happen and we sign a decent striker I can see him staying and being happy.

And there wasn't much smiling in evidence until we took advantage of Charlton's en masse substitutions. I thought we played ok in the first half against the stronger of Charlton's teams, but just couldn't finish.

Didn't see the whole game, but watched the highlights. Eze seems lively - looking forward to seeing him and Wilf turn on the style. Hoping we can pick up a couple more good quality younger players - get some energy injected into last year's team of grandpas.

Ask the fans of Norwich, Bournemouth and Watford if they would object to having a team of grandpas that achieved safety

So I am all for the introduction of some new, young, quality players as suggested by lagoseagle.

Why we only play local rivals for pre-season - they seem more interested in trying to injure our players than playing football.

Always great to get a win over Charlton and all the better if it is an easy win which it was over our regional rivals. That should keep a number of work colleagues quiet.
