There is little doubt it’s the fans that have lost it. But it’s nothing new in football. It has always happened to clubs like ours. Platforms such as this make it much easier to relay feelings of unrest, but the feelings expressed by many are not new to the situation Palace, are in.
The fact is clubs like ours, and there are quiet a few, always want the big time, the problem being the big time for such clubs is invariably a struggle year on year which will disappoint a section of the crowd no matter what ,because we will be lucky to win more than we lose in the company we keep. The game is littered with clubs that have been where we are, with patience finally breaking with appearing to merely survive.. Even back in Bert Heads time just being able to see the mega stars of that period batter us was not enough for many. It would have taken mega money to reverse that and batter them, and nothing has changed , the game at this level is mostly all about money. Many people bring up the Charlton, disaster. I would point to Stoke , like us ,several years of stable underwhelming performance, under Pulis, thrown away out of boredom .
At this moment 17 points clear of a relegation , and pissed off It really is a case of careful what you wish. Probably a forlorn request as fans across all clubs have never not got restless and not accepted it when it becomes clear their clubs have reached their maximum level within their means.

Why do fans have to show loyalty and their opinions are only valid if they are deemed loyal?

There is no loyalty in football players and coaches go where they think it is best for them. I am fine with that so I have never got you must be loyal to your club argument.

As for negativity its perfectly human to react when you watch a load of dross are people disloyal when they slag off a boring movie?

Yesterday was a breath of fresh air if we produce football like that more often than the other stuff I am happy.

No it’s not. It’s disrespectful to ask if he has lost his mind. That takes it beyond strictly football matters.

From my own point of view, the management plays to our strenghths to get the 40 points we need every year, and have done so for the last 4 years. Give Roy Raheem Sterling, Kanté, Van Dyke then he would adapt and play differently. We havent got the calibre of those players. Just give Roy better younger players and no management change is needed. Spend it on new players instead.Yes Roy cant go on forever, sadly, but just because there are two managers with promise available now it doesn't mean it's the last chance saloon. There will always be managers coming and going so other candidates will present themselves.
