Technology to produce something that looks authentic enough to pass for a ticket (or at least authentic enough to get someone to part with money) & the ability to distribute "fake tickets" have moved on & will likely continue to do so year on year going forwards - limiting the outlets being able to sell authentic tickets helps but on a big occasion like a Champions League final & the number of tickets that go to the various "hangers on" its hardly surprising that the authentic supply routes become contaminated giving rise to other less authentic avenues. The Stade De France has an 80,000 seating capacity & only 40,000 went to the 2 participating clubs (20,000 each) so at least 40,000 went to "UEFA hangers on" Originally posted by Behind Enemy Lines

I remember queueing for hours at Selhurst for a Semi Final ticket against Southampton decades ago. Can't remember any fake tickets doing the rounds back then. Not sure how these Champion League tickets were distributed but surely if you only have two outlets - Liverpool FC and Real Madrid - then that cuts down the potential for the secondary market. Anybody who can't make the match has to return the ticket to Liverpool for a refund and only the club can then sell on the ticket. If everybody knows that there are only two outlets to purchase the tickets, then the man in the pub becomes redundant and safety has a better chance of surviving. So, the problem last night is obviously the corporate and hangers on who let their tickets be sold and therefore act as a cover for the fake tickets doing the rounds.

We need an inquiry into these fake tickets, where did they come from. Edited by Badger11 (29 May 2022 12.12pm)

 Although in 2019 / 20 there were no fans & 2020 / 21 there were only 14,000 - Originally posted by YT

I hear on the radio this morning that Merseyside police travelling with the fans have described their behaviour as "exemplary". I find that difficult to ignore or dismiss. Others may disagree. Of course they were! Would you put your head above the parapet if they weren’t.

Bravo Madrid !! Hate how the poor, little innocent Liverpool fans claimed they were unfairly targeted by the French Police and wallowing in self pity ably joined and supported by the very pathetic BBC. Edited by Jacey (29 May 2022 12.42pm)

There's a great deal of bile and unnecessary hatred being lobbed at Liverpool FC and their supporters on here. I, for one, was sorry an English team lost to a Spanish team who seem to have a hold on this European trophy.
Dad and I watched games standing on the muddy slope of the Holmesdale Road end. He cheered and I rattled. |

They are even going to hold, wait for it . . . a LOSERS parade [Link]
This operation, will make the 'Charge Of The Light Brigade' seem like a simple military exercise. |

I don’t actually hate any team but I like Liverpool losing more than any other team
walking down the holmesdale road to see the palace aces! |
