On one hand I agree that we have moved on and best to move forward.
On the other hand....he does add that depth that we have missed for years. We seen what it was like with our 2 star players injured all last season.
And then....I really do not miss the arms flapping about and constant moaning. I don't think supporters would be as forgiving now as years ago when he was at it.

I haven't changed my view noted on here before that, as much as I enjoyed and valued Wilf's time with us, we shouldn't take him back now. I believe he would be an unnecessary distraction from Ollie's aim to build a new team moulded in his style.
Let's remember Wilf's glory days and move on.
Dad and I watched games standing on the muddy slope of the Holmesdale Road end. He cheered and I rattled.

Strength in depth. But why do we need another wide player in Sarr?
Wilf is for all his frailties, much loved at palace. This is a charitable view admittedly but maybe he's mellowed and wants to leave a legacy?

Everyone loves Wilf, but I can’t help thinking now that he dragged out his decision last summer because he was waiting to see if Eze and/or Olise were still going to be around come the start of the season because he knew he’d lost his title of top dog and maybe he would’ve hung around if they’d left
A cynical view I know, especially as I think I said at the time he’s earned the right to be given time to make his decision, but I just think now I’m firmly in the camp of ‘we’ve moved on’ and we’ve no need to go back because we’ve had his best years and the wages will be better spent elsewhere

Allow me to speculate on a scenario.
Man City are selling Alvarez for around £80 million.
He will need to be replaced, not necessarily like for like.
City have a long standing interest in Eze which apparently is still very much there.
It has to be acknowledged that there is a possibility of Eze joining City , in particular if there is a clause enabling him to join Champions League clubs if certain provisions are met.
It's not impossible , much as I hope it doesn't happen.
If it does happen there is a huge gap on the attacking left of Glasner's system.
Zaha could play that role and knows the club and the Premier League
In a way it could be seen as a low risk option while allowing Franca to develop.
As I said, I hope it doesn't happen and that Eze continues to dazzle us next season.

It's a Yes from me...no doubt he could work in this system...
i can't disagree with the speculation here and in general the team ethic is the most important thing. but i think that's something glasner will define very well.
the prince returns exactly when we don't need him
BUT could do well with him
obviously IF the money's right...but Parish, Dougie and Glasner will know what's appropriate for us

That’s right, if we did make him an offer, I should imagine it would be a fraction of the £200k we were offering him before

I’m a sentimental old so and so and therefore would be a yes regardless.
For footballing reasons however, if Zaha is aware that he’s no longer the number one concern, feels rejuvenated being at Palace and being still only in his early 30s, I’d be interested to see him play in one of the two CF roles for sure.
Now Zaha's got a bit of green grass ahead of him here... and finds Ambrose... not a bad effort!!!!

Turned down an eye watering contract for a shot at champions league. Who wants the petulance, the histrionics.
I believe we now have a manager and squad who can get us to Europe, why sabotage that with a prima Donna, past his best just looking for a pay day, legend or not. Make your bed you got to lie on it

If Eze to City comes to pass - I’d take McAtee as part of the deal - boys a class act and would fit in perfectly - been wanting us to sign him all window - even as a loan..!!
Don’t think Eze will go to City - certainly not as a direct replacement for Alvarez - different players - so Eze not a like for like replacement..!!
On Zaha - I’m on the fence - given our current squad he won’t be a starter - how would he react to that -,and would that potentially cause a problem..!!
That said a fit and hungry Zaha would certainly be an asset - I’m just not sure - think I’d prefer a McAtee..!!
We’ll see..!!

Oh God No.It would be completely mad. We have a manager who wants to play as a team Zaha for all his previous attributes was never a team player. We finally have a striker who is scoring goals when did we have one when Zaha was with us? You have to go back to championship days. You can list all the strikers since then and none set the world alight. In my view Zaha is a big part of that our strikers were given very few chances. Yes he was a marvelous servant but that is in the past. Let's remember him for those times and accept we have moved on

Weren't West Ham interested in signing him at one point? I'd prefer he goes there and leaves us with the good memories. I don't think he'd fit well into the new ethos.
