It is like a little haven where we rarely, if ever, talk about politics or many things other than Palace and football. I love it and really miss it. Anyway, I would like to sincerely wish all contributors a safe and happy Christmas and New Year. COYP

I think it has hit home that our precious family Christmas is not happening this year. It is so quiet in our house with no grandchildren to distract me or laugh at my silly jokes or antics.

I've already tried starting an argument with Mrs Plumpton but she saw through my strategy and easily deflected it. It was a big mistake watching the "Queens Gambit" with her earlier this month.

In the spirit of Christmas, perhaps we should cease all hostilities and meet in no mans land for a game of football? Obviously, I will want to take the knee before play commences but I might need help getting back up again.

I sometimes think that, for me, going to Palace is a similar concept. Over a long time, a group of about 8-12 of us (it varies)has formed and meet up in the Railway Mens club pre game. We cover a wide age range and come from different backgrounds and walks of life. It is like a little haven where we rarely, if ever, talk about politics or many things other than Palace and football. I love it and really miss it.

Anyway, I would like to sincerely wish all contributors a safe and happy Christmas and New Year.

And the same to you PE and everyone else. It’s quite reassuring that while Palace are playing everyone here, no matter their opinion on anything else, is going through the same sense of dread and unease with occasional delight at the same time.
The last few months have been hard for everyone and it’s good to able to chat to other people.

The comprehensive meat-head kid ends up as a squaddie in the army, but if you've been to a fee-paying school, you'll probably be selected for Sandhurst. Going for job interviews where the eventual winner is an internal candidate already in the organisation. As a 'white' male, I've had loaded firearms pointed at me by 'white' police officers , both in the USA and in Forest Hill. You do as you're told. I think 'the ruling classes' like to stoke the fires of racism now and again. Divide and conquer - the populace. Whether it be on politics, religion or ethnicity. Our tax regime is beyond reproach. I pay tax so that Apple doesn't have to. Pretty simple really. The EU love it.
Google are under pressure to change their accounting/ tax avoidance procedures currently. Money goes out somewhere and comes back through head office based in Ireland. A whole host of tech head offices are now in Dublin. Kind of a new shiny city within the city.
