This gentleman has a list of 12 categories of people he doesn't wish to rent his properties out too. To me this seems quite reasonable, as he has obviously experienced issues with them before. As usual the media are trying to sensationalise one category " Coloured people ", they couldn't give a toss about the other 11 groups.

on a different point, why did councils stop paying landlords directly for the rent rather than hand it to the tenant, who might have drug issues, to hand it to the landlord,,which usually doesnt happen, then takes about 8 months to get them out of the place, i wont accept any dss unless im paid direct!But colour/creed is not an issue as long as rents paid!

The theory is because landlords knew if they were getting money direct from the council they could look up the councils policy and just charge the maximum the council will willing to pay, irrespective of market value. Personally I would accept anyone on any kind of benefit as there are enough hard working struggling people trying to find somewhere to live.
