Well on the plus side, it seems like we have the back 5 + replacements in every position locked down. PVA is out for a bit but Mitchell/Jairo can cover that off until he gets back. I read we’re targeting another defender, young CB for cover may allow us to let Sakho go back to France. Bella-Kotop? Also defensive mid is well covered :0). Eze in and maybe Wilf out in the more attacking areas. Striker required (as ever). Personally I’d like to see Tosun back. That would be 4 in and maybe a cheeky winger loan, should see us in good shape for next season.

Lovely through ball by Schlupp for Zaha to score. Hope we see more of that this season a quick early ball forward catching the opposition off guard. Ayew should have taken the penalty Schluppy won't get another chance after that.

Thought that Kirby and Boateng both played pretty well when they came on. Would love to see some extended run outs for them in preseason.

I very much suspect that Ward will be in situ for the start of the season. I have always felt a real attacking full-back would provide us with an added dimension in the final third and of course this is not Ward's game.

Possibly much longer, in the meantime we will be playing an ageing right-back who will be targeted by our opponents. In the final analysis, we purchased an injured full-back when we have a weakness in that position. It is little wonder that our supporters throw back their heads in utter frustration.
