Ched Evans served 2 and a half years for rape,he's victim will have to live with the rape for ever. so for her it's a life sentence, probably still having nightmares, should he sign for Oldham attendances will drop and sponsors will no longer sponsor the latics. Sad day for football if this piece off sh!t is allowed to continue playing football. Is he a piece of sh*t if he is actually innocent or has a favourable case review though??? The problem with rape cases such as this is you have one drunk party claiming consensual sex and one drunken party claiming rape - physical evidence is very thin on the ground so its essentially down to a group of 12 member of the general public picking their favourite of two stories.
Not to mention that Evans, under caution to the police admitted to having sex with the victim. All they have to do then is show 'its reasonable' to believe she was incapable of giving reasonable consent. Like the footage prior to the event, of her staggering, or the fact she was sick (something Evans acknowledge to the Night Manager on leaving).

The part that always get overlooked in these types of scenarios is any kind of motive for the victim to be lying. This girl has suffered an egregious personal indignity, had to endure the court system and all of its humiliating machinations (legitimate, in the pursuit of truth) and has since had her life turned into a living hell. Why the eff would she perpetuate a lie through all of that? Meanwhile, Evans admits to having sex with a girl who he - by his own words - knew to be drunk. He has been defending his reputation, liberty and career ever since. To me, there is a massive imbalance between Evans and the girl as to who has motive to be lying. And it's not in Evans' favour. Here's a simple tip for all of us with a Y chromosome: unless you get explicit consent, hopefully enthusiastically explicit consent, don't have sex with her. Also, she can withdraw her consent at any time up to and including during the vinegar strokes; your desire to nut does not override her personal rights. Basically, if you're not sure, go home and knock one out - everyone will be happier for it.
We don't do possession; we do defense and attack. Everything else is just wa**ing with a football. |

Doesn't make him a rapist though.
The criminal justice system is human and occasionally makes mistakes and any sensible person factors that into how they view it. Just accepting all its verdicts as the complete 'truth' is to me unrealistic and has been proven so false many many times. Where it can the justice system tries to correct mistakes......This isn't undermining the process but instead a recognition of its actual purpose. Edited by Stirlingsays (08 Jan 2015 2.07am)

Being someone who helped run a pub for five years in their twenties and spent a time as a bouncer in nightclubs and in both instances saw quite a bit of stuff I'm inherently suspicious of the certainties that Jamie and others have as too this ladies capabilities. This case to me is rife with possibilities.....What I can know from the evidence is that this guy Ched is a t***...I can say that it's possible that he raped this girl. What I can't say with reasonable certainty is that he did.....From what I've heard of the evidence this conviction should never have stood. But it's atypical with where the courts are heading with rape. Edited by Stirlingsays (08 Jan 2015 2.17am)

Based on a lot of the posts in here deeming rape as girl gets drunk, stumbles, does a sick, gives a BJ and has a dirty wet put in her, I reckon there must be about 50 rapes a day in the summer months in just Ibiza, Magaluf and Malia alone. I'm not saying he did or didn't rape her, I just think a lot of people are very quick to say he did with a real matter of fact attitude and then back it up with 'he was convicted'. There are a hell of a lot of wrong convictions, it's not unthinkable to think this may be one of them and the reason he shows little remorse is he is adamant he took part in consensual sex, whether his way of doing it was exceptionally sleazy or not.

It's not unthinkable. But where is the new evidence? I though Gerrard was a tad lucky to get away with the assault charge but in the eyes of the law he's not guilty. Without any new evidence nothing will change and nor should it. We live in jury based evidential system and the appeal system has said his conviction is safe. His latest attempt has about as much chance as any of us have of jumping liz hurley and her saying yes that was great.

In the Mirror it says Evans fiancee's dad has promised to make up any income lost by sponsors pulling out
Trivial fact - Palace used to win 5-1 at least once a season, maybe next season? |

Obviously can't know for sure, but perhaps the reason Macdonald didn't get charged was because he'd pulled, she may have been willing, she then got even more drunk but hadn't refused consent with Macdonald Macdonald texted Evans who came round to the hotel by which time she was totally out of it so didn't give Evans consent
