Perhaps...but I didnt say it was accurate! lol You'd think that the same methodology would've been applied to everyone and as such would likely even out across the table so it's a fair representation as opposed to sheer assumption and guess work on our part.

You sound a bit over confident there mate. By no means do were have a average or mid table wage bill, we are significantly under average, That would support Painter's comment that it indeed is relative. We may have underachieved a bit but nowhere near the event you make out. Originally posted by Rachid Rachid Rachid
1. Who said anything about Blackburn, Wigan etc ?

If we manage to stay up, which some will say is either a possibility or probability, then there will be such relief that there might be a tendency to be a bit more positive about the season than it perhaps warrants.Disappointing - but my goodness we are in the PL next season ! Whilst I appreciate what you are saying for a lot of people Palace have been in the lower leagues for most of their lives. The odd time we get into the top division it's normal to expect immediate relegation. This season we have played to capacity crowds at selhurst and been able to watch one or two class players in a palace strip. I guess it's all about expectations, I remember watching a team of donkeys play in what is now league 1 in front of 6000 people at selhurst...now that was awfull

I thought we were getting a bit ahead of ourselves at the start of the season when people were talking about Europe. I will settle for 17th. I don't care what people say, the team since January is a class act. We are ravaged by injuries but if we can stay up, add a bit more quality and some experienced depth then this season may well have been an important season of transition. If we go down then it will be a disaster. It might be a generation before we come back. The Premiership is not something that we should take for granted. Struggling to beat scunthorpe will come around soon enough.

We already had the likes of Cabaye on £80k per week before acquiring Benteke and Townsend as well as the players signed in January. Hard to believe the likes of Swansea and Sunderland paying more. Not at all! Sunderland are notorious for buying has-beens on expensive contracts -thought everyone knew this? - and Swansea have been in this division a lot longer than us.
