If we are in for a few players would you expect him to confirm it. I'm not saying we are in for anyone but for most clubs it's all smoke and mirrors and only the top clubs with the big bucks can afford to be more open and direct.

Those comments were taken out of context the club will have irons in the fire quite a few teams do but Roy has a fantastic poker face therefore won’t make the same mistake the club made with the Solanke deal I for one certainly hope there will be signings , 18 players in a squad is not enough to get through to may otherwise we could be a serious relegation candidate toward the end of the season

Fair comment I was thinking that, was just trying to say something a bit younger in cheek as opposed to showing any anguish!

We are desperately short of goals in our team, Wickham and Benteke don’t seem to be the answer neither have given the impression that they can fire the goals we need to get away from the bottom 3. A fresh face may well have been the catalyst to us moving up the table but the board don’t want to spend any money. I suggest this a bit of a short sighted view as we’ve been desperately short of fire power all season.

Thus far in this window there hasn't been much transfer activity in respect of the clubs at the bottom :

Cardiff - Signed Niasse
Huddersfield - Only brought in Puncheon who couldn't make our starting 11.
Fulham - Signed 32 year old Babel
Newcastle - No signings
Burnley - No signings
Southampton - No signings.
