The days of screaming "waycist" and "xenofowb" because someone has a different idea of what their country should be are long gone. It makes you look pathetic. The "view" that never existed - you mean freely trading among the rest of the world (all 160+ nations of them) without the need for a continually-federalising political experiment? Yes. Never existed. Here's reality: if the EU's 19th Century customs union approach is so bloody amazing, why has the same model not spawned elsewhere in the world? Are MERCOSUR desperate for a common currency, anthem, flag and president? How about ASEAN? Are they looking to shut off trade with China because it harms their protectionist ideals? No. These countries trade: sometimes freely, often successfully, and without the cold, dead hand of bureaucratic cronyism stifling their productivity and competitiveness. We are fcuking MAD not to join them.

There will still be immigration. The issue for most people who want to leave is uncontrollable immigration.

With so much of our infrastructure belonging to foreign companies , will we be able to make them British again if we leave? Surely that is the patriotic way?
