With Boris Johnson, we finally seem to have someone in charge who isn't going to put up with the contempt that this once great publicly funded institution have for views that would exist outside the Guardian. One of many campaign groups that masquerade as a charity for the tax breaks and not just on the left there are dozens of them across the whole political spectrum. There is nothing wrong with campaign groups but they are not charities. I noticed that the latest Doctor Who series kicked off with a record low audience still the rainbow Tardis will not doubt keep spinning. The only good news that BBC has had over Christmas is that downloads from IPlayer went up significantly which is ironic as it's a streaming service. So when the BBC says it doesn't have a financial model to replace the licence fee the politicians will point to IPlayer as a way forward. You now need an id and password the only thing missing is to pay for it.

I think he was in the crowd. 'Hope Not Hate' are mostly a far left activist organization that are used by the BBC's political programmmes and even the government to battle against conservative voices and ideas that would have been common place in Thatcher's Tory party of the eighties.
