If anything, benteke is a proven Prem goal scorer where Michy isn't. For that I'd pay 30 mil. I think benteke would be the ideal striker for us

Beneteke odds to join palace now are 30/100 from 1/4 and townsend odds are 1/8 from1/5 this morning are these two actually going to happen would be with both of these and definitely a message of intent to other clubs we are serious

I remember when someone suggested Benteke last season and was laughed off the forum. Shows you how far we have come and he would absolutely suit our team down to the ground. For all that are saying no, what are the better and realistic alternatives?

We're not buying a good personality either. He "dived" who gives a f***? Suarez occasionally likes to chow down on other players mid game but I'm fairly certain no one in the world would turn him down.

I think until the Batshuyai bid in excess of £30m was confirmed, no one would realistically think we would be anywhere near this. I think people might have thought we'd stretch to £15m, but £20m+?

Yeah that's my point. I'm hoping the Batshuayi palava shows our intent but my point is why are people so abject to the prospect of benteke? It's not just money but what deal we can actually do and he seems fairly realistic and I'd say definitely worth it

People saying 'no' to Benteke are utterly mental. Who on earth could we get who's better?? This is a team that had Frazier Campbell and Cameron Jerome as regular starters in recent years for Christ's sake. As for the dive... I too was upset by that, but I expect Wilf would have done the same in that situation. Liverpool fans don't hate Benteke for doing that because it was for them. We'd say the same.

Fantastic signing if it comes off, as others have said, would very much suit our style. Still remember the goal he scored at SP a couple of years ago when he punished a rare Dann error, he 'had a lot to do' as they say, but did it supremely well.
