Apparently Sky have confirmed that the bus bomb was a suicide bomber.
Talk of police marksmen taking out a man attemtping to get into building in Canary Warf with bomb???

How can you prevent someone making a small explosive device and leaving it in a bag on a bus or train. Such attacks are extremely easy to co-ordinate and will be part of our world for years to come. There is no effective way to fight such cowardly attacks in such a huge city.
My prayers go out to everyone involved. I am myself trying to get hold of friends working in Central London but because the networks are down I have to sit here like everyone else and wait and worry.

I was outside Liverpool St walking to work when it went off.
Didn't know it was anything like it was until i saw the news when i got in.
This is just horrible
Six numbers, thats all. Is that too much to ask?!!!

Just got back in and found out about this on the news.
I got a horrible sinking feeling in my gut. I was working in London at the time of the Oxford street bombs and also saw too much of this in Northern Ireland.
I hope everyone on here who has friends and relations in the area finds them safe. Unfortunately there will be others who won't be so lucky.
This type of thing is the only kind of event that really makes me fill with anger.

I've just found out my 2 friends are ok, one of my mates missed the Aldgate explosions by 10 minutes!
I just thought of something quite strange, Its the 7 july( 7/7) and there has been 7 explosions.
7-7-7

It's chaos up here - my office is is practically next door to Liverpool Street and we have been forbidden from leaving the building.
Heard a blast, assume in Houndsditch. Police, emergency services and choppers everywhere.
Hopefully all City HoL'er's are well.

All the talk of evacuations - what's the point in evacuating? These people won't actually be able to get an anywhere with no transport in place!
Admittdly there could be a need for evacuation but it'll just cause even more chaos.
