Be nice to see Charlie sitting in the stand next to Steve Parish on Sunday

No it wouldn't.

Over priced, over rated, and thank god over the other side of the stream, lets hope he stays there.

How can you say his overpriced when you or none off us know the transfer fee.

Maybe we could do a swap deal with campbell plus cash, goalscorers cost money unless their contracts run out which in Austins case applys as his contract runs out in the summer.

if he doesn't go this month he'll go on a free in the summer and there'll be a list of clubs as long as your arm wanting him.

Austin to Palace in Jan or in the summer on a free hell yeah.

Really, where have you been, QPR have said more than once they wont let him go for less than £8m.

That's silly money for a player with less than 6 playing months on his contract, no club is going to pay that not knowing whether they can get value, especially as he is injury prone.

£8 million is not silly money for a proven goalscorer, this would be a good deal for us and for Austin as he would'nt have to move house.

selling the club to him would be easy as we are putting the infrastructure in place and we have more of a decent chance of europe this season.

i find it strange that people don't want a player who hit 18 goals last season.

yes his had injuries but so has Connor Wickham, players get injured it's a part off the game.

No, QPR have said they wont let him go for less than £15m!!!
So please don't make me laugh, and as for the bloke - who said my post was embarrassing - if you want to pay £15m for a guy playing for a team 16th in the Championship your welcome - just don't sign him for palace.

I think Austin would be a good signing for us, as he knows how to score goals. Last year I wouldhave jumped at the chance to sign him especially, and wouldnt be upset now. But, with Connor wickham already a mainstay on the physio table, we can't have another injury prone striker.

No it's not silly money for a player with more than 6 months left on their contract, why do you think the likes of Newcastle, Leicester, West Ham, and Tottenham, all lost interest over the summer, because the price tag was too high.

If we don't get him this month there's no way we'll get him in the summer, the wages he'll be offered by the teams above us will be way too much for us. He's worth 8mil if that's the fee, forget when his contract expires because it won't effect us.

You mean the same tottenham who had a 12 million bid accepted by Burnley for ings last January, forget about the contract situation, 8 million is not a lot of money for a player who's proven at this level. If it means we get him before another club has a chance to talk to him then it's money well spent, I agree about the injuries but paying big money for an unproven foreigner is an even bigger gamble.

Tottenham literally only bid £12m on Ings to screw Liverpool over. They knew he was going there and by doing that the tribunal fee could be pushed up.

Maybe, who knows what goes on between clubs but if we could get Austin for 8 mill in Jan then it definitely wouldn't be a bad deal. I don't think it will happen anyway he looks like his going to hold out for the summer.

Despite my personal opinion, the attached suggests he will leave QPR this month and that we are favorites. QPR say they will not take less than £12.5m.
It appears that i am in thye minority. I dont think he is worth that money. That will be £20m on two strikers in 6 months with CW on the phsio table again and Austin with dodgy knees apparently.
My own view is to do whatever we can to get Remy, but if AP believes in Austin I will support the player notwithstanding my view that its too much.

I just cant see the sense in buying Austin for 6 or 8 mill now when he is free in the summer. At 6-8 mill it's 1 mill per month. For it to be worth it having Austin would have to make a 8 place difference in the table between ow and the end of the season (with each Premier place being worth approx 1 mill more each step). He aint going to be that much of a difference, I'd rather we brought in a young potential striker cheaper as cover for CW and go for Austin in the summer. The only way we should go for him now is if there are firm offers on the table for him from other clubs.
