Howe would be great, but he needs to be in place before Coventry, as the transfer window is open, and I have no doubt that he will have players in mind.

If this guy actually becomes manager I will be absolutley delighted. He is someone we can really build for the long term with and he has done fantastic in the few years he has been in management. Kept them up on -17 points, got them promoted when they had a transfer embargo for most of the season and has started fantastically this season with them in 3rd place. Also think he would be really intrested in the challenge here and we would be a club which would really appeal to him.

According to BBC's regional news (South Today) just now, an approach has been made about Howe to the Bournemouth chairman/board

Look! Eddie Howe is probably our best choice. You look at other managers that are without a job or have supposedly applied for the job and look what they've done compared to him

Darren Ferguson - done a half decent job at Posh then got sacked for some unknown reason. Then went to PNE, had the choice of all Man Utds best young players and he still managed to be bottom of the league

Paulo Sousa - sacked by qpr for being crap, did ok at Swansea but as a swans fan said on here he was a arsehole behind closed doors. And couldn't do much at Leicester despite inheriting a club that in the previous season got to a play-off semi final. He also likes his teams to play like Burley does and look where that's got us!

Gordon Strachen - spent a f*** load of cash at Mcmiddlesbrough and there not much better off than us. Only ever won anything at the Tims when Rangers were brought to there knees by debt.

Phil Brown- got promotion from championship into premiership stayed up narrowly, mainly because of taking the Premiership by surpise in the first 12 games or so ( alla Blackpool) then got sacked whilst taking Hull down in a dire financial situation.

Mark McGhee - the less said about him the bettter!

Keith Hill- if you don't want Eddie Howe then you won't want him.

Chris Hughton - if I was given Newcastle to manage I could have won the league with those players.

There isn't a manager around who has had the restraints that Eddie Howe has that has been as successful as him, at a so called lesser club than palace

Really? I seem to remember at the start of last season when he was given the job, Newcastle were been mooted to have a similar time to leeds and drop through the divisions!

Hughton doesnt get enough credit. He did a good job at Newcastle, yes it was what was expected but netherless he couldnt excatly done any better could he? To add to that he had a really good start to their Premiership campaign. Him as Palace boss however isnt for me as I dont really see him as the manager to take us out of a relegation battle as this is a MUCH tougher job than in geordieland.

Yup we know that, he's been given permission to speak to Palace and will reportedly do so in the next 24 hours.
