I had forgotten about John Burridge's pre-match antics. The hand-standing always struck me more as showing off than warming up. Still, he was, as they say, a character.

I went afew years ago to see Alfreton play Blyth Spartans, to get my Palace book signed by John. He duly signed and posed for a photo doing a handstand, much to the amusement of his players.
