Hi guys - Blackpool fan here, just a few comments to share with you about yesterday and Holloway, if i may?

We badly needed that win, so did you, but you'll be fine for the play-offs so good luck with those. Anything can happen on the day, so if you're in luck, you'll get to the Premier League.

Our pitch is a mess and our home record reflects just how badly it's hampered our performances. Tom Ince did really well setting up the goal yesterday, but believe me, that run he made and the jinking in and out etc has failed about 99 times out of 100 this season due to the ball bobbling all over the place. Apparently we've got some parasitic worm infestation in the subsoil areas and they are eating the new grass roots, thus preventing any new growth. It's all being dug up at the end of the season.

Onto Holloway - it's a shame and quite a shock to read some of the posts on here that are really not liking the fella. He's a good manager IMO, but he does tend to have phases of losing the plot and getting it wrong. Never known a Holloway team to go 3 matches without scoring, but i firmly believe that will end and you'll give Barnsley a good tonking.

One question - re your dip in form of late - do you think selling Zaha and allowing him back for the rest of the season was a good idea?
Might it have caused some unrest, the new millionaire in the dressing room giving it large or perhaps making others feel jealous through no fault of his own? Has it caused dissent - in that he's already in the Prem so to speak so maybe the other teammates wonder if he's actually fighting for the same cause?

Anyway, forgive my intrusion - bored at work and fancied a football chat. Good luck for the rest of the season -hope you make the step up to the top flight. Keep believing !

cheers for the good comments.

on your pitch yeah its terrible, hope you sort that for next season.

on zaha i dont think him coming back has hurt us. he said himself he wants to help us get to the prem.

no offence but on your song, wish you would find your own song not another teams. does sound weird you lot singing it. why did you nick it?

hope you stay up im sure you will.

Hi Mayfield,

Thanks for your comments. We're certainly not in the best of form at the moment but the main thing we are at least in the play-offs. Fans are naturally lashing out at the manager and questioning his selection and substitutes.

I firmly believe he is the man to take us forward despite this blip as he has done this before and will be able to get the extra amount required from the players.

Good luck for the rest of the season. Have these parasitic worms spread from the boardroom.

Thanks Mayfield and good to hear some positivity, even if it did have to come from an oppo fan.

I wasn't at the game so can't comment on the pitch but teams all have to adapt and as you say it has hampered you guys this season - we only had to play on it once!

I like Holloway, it is always a bit of a balancing act at this level with managers. You generally get the technically and tactically dept managers who have little or no media and man management skills or you get the opposite. Rarely the whole package as those guys move up the ladder quickly much like players.

I think with the team he inherited there was very little work needed on the attacking side. We just needed to maintain the defensive side in order to be truly formidible. Something I don't think Olly is that good at. He could walk into a team not scoring and make them score but walking into a team that is scoring and make them tight at the back is not his forte.

I'd like to think we will go up via the playoffs after tonking Brighton at Wembley. Eight months ago I would have been happy to stay up. Two months ago I would have been happy with second. Just shows the changes to the expectation levels we have been through this year.

Difficult to comment on the Zaha thing, I can see your point and indeed I think I would feel some sort of resentment if I were one of the other players but then I'm not a professional footballer. All the player interviews I have seen since January where it has been mentioned say how much of a boost it was Wilf signing and then coming back in but is that maybe the club party line? Who knows, I don't think Wilf has really hit the same levels since he was sold to be honest but then even at 50% he can be a game winner.

Thanks for your comments and best wishes. I know very few football fans who have anything bad to say about Blackpool and in turn wish you guys all the best with your football and your worm problems. Oh and if you have to play Brighton before the end of the season do us a favour will ya

Welcome Mayfield, and well done for your result on Monday, although it's really hurt us, and sent a lot of our fans into meltdown. Your host of your internet radio show joined our guys on Sunday night and suggested that the pitch problem was more down to a lack of care and attention from the owner than this so called parasite eating the roots. From what i hear, Wilf is quite a level headed young kid and not a billy big boots, so I don't think that he is affecting things in the dressing room. To be honest I just don't think we are quite as good as our league position suggests.Having said that,it's such a strange league this year, a bit of luck in some games, we could of made wins out of draws, and been even higher. At the start of the season, we were favourites to go down. I personally think we are just about top ten, but obviously hope we go all the way.I won't be too fussed if we don't though cos i love the honesty of the championship compared to the prem.Ollie wasn't my preferred choice of manager, but he is our manager, so I shall get behind him and the players until the end of the season.

Hi Mayfield,

Thanks for the encouraging words.

I was at the game yesterday. No complaints...the pitch is awful but can't be used to excuse us failing to take advantage of having an extra player for half the game. In fact Speroni had to make a couple of top class saves earlier in the game to keep us in it.

In terms of Zaha...I don't think it's an issue. They are all professionals, and I think the squad as a whole are supportive of the situation and wish Wilf all the best for the future.

As to Holloway....well, I was as excited as anyone at his appointment, but I am beginning to lose faith in him. We all have our own opinions on tactics, team selections etc etc but I have to say with only a couple of exceptions, I find myself at odds with his decisions. He doesn't appear to have improved much if anything, since he's been here. Our record under him is not that of a play-off challenging team. He'll be given time to get it right, and it looks like that will be done in the Championship next season.

Hope you guys are ok, and look forward to another visit next year. Hopefully it will be warmer !!

Spoke to a few Blackpool fans yesterday and all seemed decent enough. Quite a tidy little ground too I thought. I don't think I need to add to what's already been said about the pitch!

Holloway came in a difficult time, we were doing very well so it was always going to be tough when we did finally start slipping up. It had to happen at some point. I think the majority of our fans are just disappointed in how badly we've played and how we've lost games cos teams have wanted it more.

All the best to Blackpool, especially when you're playing someone in the top half!

For those of you who havent seen the pitch here's a picture. We could only play long ball on that but it was still a very disappointing performance! I spent three days up there so a day in the Pleasure Beach with my kids lessened the blow but I did feel for those who had to go straight back home after the game. All day on a coach, like Leeds away earlier this season, is no fun.

Nice fair post Mayfield. I wasn't at the Backpool game so can't really comment but we were playing 10 men for a period so for me questions need to be asked. Personally IH is not for me, not sure about the attack at all costs style and I hate his press conferences. But we have to get on with it and hopefully finish 3rd or 4th for a home tie in the 2nd leg.

Good Luck to Blackpool and if you want IH back then it's fine with me
