Does anyone know if the 2 old duffers who lied about being dragged and beaten to the ground, have taken up 2010 on the offer of a free trip to selhurst.

It all went very quite after the truth emerged.

What happened in the end with these 2 crusties.

one statement; "I have some knowledge of the actual events that took place. The two guys are being made out to be some kind of Danny Dyer wannabes but the truth is they are actually anything but. I believe they are Palace fans (but can't say I actually know that they are). The two guys were walking in the road (as were many other people) and the old guy in the car practically drove into one of them. The pedestrian remonstrated with the driver (as I am sure anyone would) and even shouted something along the lines of "Oi be careful mate" to which the driver excessively honked his horn and shouted abuse from inside the car. The traffic was moving very slowly so their paths continued to cross (far from the stalking that was claimed) and the driver continued to shout abuse from inside the car. The believed-to-be Palace guy said something along "calm down mate - just because you lost" in a light hearted banterish way (far far from agressive). The next time the old boy was stationnary, for some unbeknown reason, he got out of his car brandishing his walking stick. He lunged towards a group of Palace supporters (including kids) that were just behind the other two guys, with the stick before turning to the original guy and repeatedly hitting him with the stick. The pedestrian grabbed the stick from the old boy to stop him attacking him with it, then the wife became involved and tried to wrestle the stick back from him and the lady ended up on the floor. It looked like she stumbled but definitely at no time did the pedestrian physically attack the old couple. The family group of Palace (youngest child aged 10) moved away at this point as others in the crowd were becoming involved and they wanted to make sure their kids were safe. So, as has been mentioned several times in this thread, don't believe everything you read in the papers, and just because somene is aged 73 doesn't mean thean they are not capable of bad behaviour"
