How about a bet that we need to score 3 goals or more in the last match of the season to stay up and ffs scores a hat trick in the match. He then gets selected to go to Brazil. Must be worth a tenner....

Brazil? Are you some kind of nut?

Did you know that the country is named after the nut and not, as would one expect, the other way round?

True.

That's similar to My Aunt Fanny who was named after her Dad who was a Cnut.

FFS to finish top scorer for Palace this season and then make the plane to Brazil.

Obviously a long shot but if he does start on the front foot we stay up due to his goals he may just squeeze on the plane. Plus he hasn't got to get more than 8 or 9 goals to finish top scorer.

1500/1 must be worth a tenner

Good to see you've got your feet on the ground and are not getting carried away with any unrealistic expectations.

Some very good replies guys.

i'm still gonna do it maybe a score. Murray finishes top scorer with a brace and some of the England forwards get metatarsal injuries or such like. Murray gets the 5th place call and i'm sitting on 30 grand.

You lot can take the pi-s all you like then, cos if i dont give a f-ck now imagine how much i'd care with 30 grand in my pocket.

In all fairness the probability is high but no where near 1500/1.
14/1 top scorer and the palace players only got 3 goals head start
100/1 to make the team. There's only 11 English forwards to choose from in the premiership. Some will get injured some they wont take on form. Stranger things have happened.

Anyway carry on taking the pi-s i'm off down to labrookes

May have trouble getting the double on or more importantly paid out in full should it win. The events are related so true odds of the double should be less.

This isn't such a crazy bet, but I wouldn't put £20 on - downside is too overwhelmingly likely. The point is just that the odds aren't a realistic reflection of the true probability because they're at the weird end of the market and it's hard to price them right. Remember that the odds on Palace getting a top 10 finish were 80/1 when Pulis took over. In retrospect that was worth £20...

I did! But do you know why the nut is called Brazil? Methinks perhaps Alan discovered it??

Always remembering walking from the Holmesdale to the Whitehorse end at half time!

Yes, because the lower the odds, generally the more money you bet.
