For me the win against Chelsea was no better that the wins against Portsmouth and Stockport to avoid relegation and I probably enjoyed last season, in particular pre IH and the end of the season, way more than I have enjoyed most of this season.

The club needs to spend time in the Premiership for financial stability (assuming the owners don't do anything stupid) but for us fans I don't think it matters, or should matter, what division we are in.

Freedman gets a lot of stick on here - but I'll never forget these 2 games

Nope it's not my name

The relegation battles against Stockport and then Sheffield Weds were only enjoyable because of the ultimate outcome... Last season (the play off games themselves aside) was pretty poor as we did our best to self combust having got into a comfortable play off position.. The stakes are higher in the Premier League... I'd love a season finishing mid table.. No one would say it was boring as we'd be at risk of form falling away and relegation for a while at least... Improve upon mid table and we can begin to dream of the E word..

I feel like I need to inject a bit of realism here.

1. We aren't even safe yet
2. We need to make TP love us and stay for more than one more season
3. We desperately need to make some consistent funds to redevelop the ground before we get too ambitious
4. We don't need CPFC2010 to bale out, especially to a foreign tw4t like Tan. Nothing against foreigners per se but very few run a club like Palace in a way that our fans obviously want.

If all those things work out well then after a few seasons in mid table we can begin to wonder if we might be ambitious for anything more! Right now I'm just over the moon that we have a great chance of getting a second season in the prem...

Oh yes, also we aren't Charlton.

Yes is the answer.

It would be nice to try it for a few seasons at least.

I'm really hoping we hang on to Pulis because if we do he will build us into a decent team. He won't change the system we're playing but he will add to it with quality players. Also, with a decent manager and at least another season in the Prem we'll become a more attractive option for quality players.

Should we stay up, Next season i expect us to be similar to this season (post holloway) - we will still be 'new' to the league and there for, certain games will be exciting for us.

We will be looking at taking a big boy scalp, with one eye on the bottom three - we can also have good cup runs.

I honestly think any 'true' palace fan will appreciate mid table mediocrity for a few years - so long as the football in enjoyable.

The club will be secure, a sell out selhurst and watching top flight football.

We will be able to enjoy Cup runs that would no longer be a distraction.

Then, we will probably start to push for Europe and that will be our new aim!!

But, i guarantee there will be people that moan.

To be honest, if it meant mid-table mediocrity, I'd take scrappy, boring defensive games for a few more seasons at least. I'm 32 and have seen enough yoyo'ing, financial battles, key players sold off, and all that to last me a life time! All I want to see palace do before I die, is become premiership regulars, and win the FA cup... Its not too much to ask, is it?

Yes, i do.

Why ?

To establish ourselves in the PL would be just reward for the investment of our owners, a tribute to our squad of players written off as no hopers at the start of the season, and a thank you to the incredible support the team has enjoyed from the fans.

The secret to happiness is being content with what you have...

We're here now, onwards and upwards as we have always tried to do.

I will miss the weed though, the first win at the at theirs and the play-off win, two of my very favorites..

More looking forward to a possible new stadium and Europe. That's the next bit if we get it right.

I would be perfectly content if Pulis replicated his Premier League record at Stoke at our beloved club.

Even if it is built around a solid defence? You don't seem terribly content with a system built around a solid defence this season...

For me there are only the following clubs who are safe (at the moment) in the PL. Liverpool, Chelsea, Man City, Arsenal, Everton, Spurs & Man. Utd. Although it will be interesting for Chelsea & Man City when the owners change.

This means there are thirteen clubs who given a few seasons will flirt with relegation.

I think the idea of being a mid-table club exists for very long in the PL. The nearest is Aston Villa.

I don't think Palace supporters have to worry at the idea of becoming a mid-table club.

Mid table in the premier league wouldn't be "mediocrity"...it would be consistent high level performances with more wins than losses and no stress! Gimme, gimme, gimme!!!
