All games tomorrow will be starting 7 minutes late, with a minutes silence in tribute to the victims

Note a minutes SILENCE. Not applause, not cheering, but complete silence

We don't want Selhurst shown on TV as the only ground where the silence wasn't observed

It's getting a bit mawkish now surely. Not healthy.

Indeed.

But maybe a banner.

"29 May 1985 39 lost souls"

Do we need reminding to be respectful?

Serious question, what time does the minute silence begin? 3:00 or 3:06 maybe?
Also what is the relevance of 7 minutes - I (think) I read that the match was abandoned around the 7 minute mark, is that right?

Whenever I feel the need to exercise, I lie down until it goes away.

Match abandoned at 3:06, which is when the 1 min silence starts, 3:07 Kick Off

What is the purpose of these silences? I get it if it's a recent event, but anniversaries now? It's all a bit ostentatious surely. Are people incapable of grieving or honouring the dead without a choreographed display?

With you on that sentiment. Hardly recent though. It gets dragged up almost every year, which makes it seem recent.

I have every respect for the families of the unlucky people caught up in it, but there are other stadium tragedies that are ignored. That's what annoys me.

Do Manchester United or juve hold annual silences ? Genuine question.

Man U? Why would they? That was Liverpool at Heysal when the Juve crush happened.

For Munich.

I guess it'd be hard to differentiate mins silence with a normal home fixture to be fair...

Juve hold a grudge. They had a banner.

"Easy to speak, difficult to pardon: murders and 15-4-89. Sheffield. God exists"
