A few tough games coming up which may change this a little, but here is a table showing standings when looking just at results from and including 23 of November, when Pulis took over.... 1 Chelsea 54 Just shows what an amazing job TP has done and big thanks to IH for departing before it was too late.
We got 3 points from Sunderland and 1 from Everton. Pulis was officially appointed on the 23rd when we beat Hull - I think he may have watched that game from the stands... Think u may be right there. Didn't he lose his first official game 1:0 to Norwich? Or have I made that up? Can't believe we've won 11 games. The other day I was trying to remember who we'd beaten but there were too many!

Think we were on 4 points when Olly left, then Millen got us a point against Everton and TP took over on November 23rd when we beat Hull away. If I'm right we were on 5 points when TP got the job, so he's won us 32 out of the current 37.
Yeah I had to check a few times because I couldn't believe it, I don't remember us being that bad - it might be because we were very unlucky in some of those games and should have got points at Old Trafford and at home against Spurs...

In Millen's three games in charge, we got a win against Hull, a draw against Everton and lost to Arsenal. We had 7 points when Pulis took over.

Interesting table. On 3 Nov we were bottom with 3 points from 10 games, 11 points behind Hull and 10 from WBA. Now 1 point ahead Hull, 4 above WBA. Huge turn around since Ollie fell on his sword. Luckily for Soton they had a great start as they could well of been in the mire now.

The KG sending off didn't help at Old Trafford but us having 11 on the pitch for the full 90 would've just given us a chance of something, not 'should've got points at Old Trafford.' Jedi's passing was poor that day and if Gayle had scored to make it 0-1 to us, it would only have given us a better chance of something by hanging on when stretched and tired with constant pressure and Ashley Young's antics. We were not good enough to stay competitive for THE FULL 90 mins away from home vs the better sides. And at home we kept making too many changes and thinking we should get something at home rather than staying hard to beat and always with a chance to sneak 3 points with some good fortune. KM & TP luckily saw things the same way because every single 3 points or draw for 1 point are precious this season.

When all are fully fit we are not far off being a mid-table side for the duration of a season. I'll be even more confident of that with more of a regular goal scoring striker. The danger is that there's a greasy pole from mid-table down to relegation that any team is in danger of sliding down without millions to spend in January to dig themselves out. A few injuries or suspensions, a cup run and God forbid losing a manager who is so crucial to it all delivering and it can fall apart very very quickly. Nobody would've thought Brum City would've been relegated with their side but a League Cup trophy and 3 injuried at CB and def mid and down they went, and they won't come back for a while. And then there is the expectancy you get with getting better and better. At some point you hit your ceiling and then fans start demanding certain things and you go the way of Charlton. Lots of these 'fans' will f*** off if it fails even more after demanding things beyond what is sensibly achievable.

To be fair to KM, when TP took over on the 23rd Nov those three points were not under his charge as he was appointed just before the game so had no input, that was all down too KM along with the point against Everton.

And over this same period, we have a zero goal difference; scored 18, conceded 18 - only Chelsea and Everton have conceded fewer! Amazing turnaround.
Rollercoaster ride - never a dull moment with the Palace! |
