Can any goalkeeper advise if Jules was at fault with Man City's first goal?

Should he have:

A) Caught or punched the cross before it found the striker?

B) Been quicker with his dive?

IMO, he didn't seem to command his goal area with a great deal of authority during the match.

Hope his chances (admittedly slim) of a World Cup call-up have not been jeopardised.

Will Hennessy be given a run-out before the end of the season?

A) No chance

B)possibly but its all chance at that stage

He never does command his area that well

He didn't really have much of a chance anyway

Hope not, no reason at all for him to at this stage.

Yes and no. He got between Dann and Mariappa covering...was a delightful cross from an awesome humble player...great header...only way to save was to punch it away...who knows maybe Hennesey could of should of time will tell...I think Tony will buy another centre back and all positions up for grabs..the way it should be.

I was in goal playing with my nine year old lad down the park at the weekend so feel qualified to answer:

1)Yaya played a millimetre perfect pass/cross and no goalkeeper in the world could have done anything about it nor the ball ending up in the back of the net.

2)Hennessy is not as good as Jules so shouldn't be given the No.1 spot until he is or if Jules loses form.

Dunno about the first but I thought he ended up a bit stranded for the second

Am beginning to wonder if Jules is too modest to be a top-class goalkeeper.

Everyone agrees that he's a nice guy/ lovely bloke etc.

But maybe he needs to find his inner bully and let opponents (and his own back four) know who's boss.

Agree 100%. The mistake was giving Toure so much time on the ball on the edge of the box.

Agreed. Jedi gave YaYa far too much space and should've closed him down quicker.

He was awesome yesterday though.

No, it was a perfect ball in between the defence and the Keeper. If he comes for that, he doesn't get there in time. If he positions himself to be able to get there in time, he's more likely to conceed from a shot.

Toure had too much time on the ball, and were not fast enough to stop Dejko.

No ones fault, they were just better than us.

This sums up what I think. If anything perhaps the two defenders could have done better in dealing with the cross, but it was a real 'peach' of a delivery by a top player who shouldn't have been given the time and room to pick out Dzeko.
