Palace approached last season with a squad and style unsuited to the prem and nearly paid the price. Next season, with a better squad and more suitable tactics, does it matter who Palace play and when?

Will be in a relegation battle next season, wouldn't want the big teams one after another.

Hopefully we can be at home 1st game and the first two are against easier teams, the sooner we get points on the board the better.

Of course it matters. Man U,'pool, Chelsea are aware of their deficiencies. They will be spending big money, which we can't afford. Even Arsenal will be spending. Along with Everton, Spurs, and all the others from this seasons league. And of course Man C will be buying.

Add in the newcomers, who are promising to spend big, you have to ask where the "better squad" will come from.

So, I will be happy if we finish 17th.

Is `Arsenal` and `Spending` in the same sentence grammatically correct?

Yeah, I know. Unheard of. But I think they maybe involved in the "rape" of Soton.

I am going to disagree. If Palace (Aletico Bilbao too) prove one thing is that money in football does not automatically equal to success and neither does a lack of money automatically mean failure.

Management matters more. So as long as Tony Pullis and the present management are at the helm with a few reinforcements I am thinking that we can mount a strong and spirited challenge for 9th place.

What I see is 8 clearly superior playing clubs, I dont think we have a chance of challenging these for maybe 3-5 yrs. But I think we have proved that we can compete at the highest levels and to cement a mid table position is not beyond us. Its all relative and its not just the money.

Looks like 2 models have emerged Southamptons, Stokes, Swansea's and Palace. These are clubs doing stuff on a budget. What is curious is we seem to be doing it faster than the others, so much so that people dont really believe what they see. Even the fans.

'- Really? Honestly? Back in the USSR,,,you don't know how lucky you are.

I think it will be tougher next season, Leicester have money behind them and if QPR make it they will throw crazy money at it so that only leaves Burnley as potential whipping boys. Saints could.. I have problems with the manager possibly being off along with their star players. Hull could possibly struggle if the owner walks away but thankfully we've got TP in our dugout which is vital.

realistically, we should all expect a relegation battle and hopefully pull away towards the end - just like this season - anyone expecting top 10 - well, not saying it is crazy, but we do need to be realistic - i don't want to say 'remember where we were' as i believe you need to move on, but definitely 15 - 17 is the target.

Just look at Norwich, Fulham, Villa and west brom, even swansea and hammers as teams that flirt with relegation

The premiership is a league of 2 tables, from 10 to 20 there's really not that much in it, weve as much chance of finishing 20th as we have of 10th, so all i know is weve got another exciting season to look forward to, which is what supporting palace is all about.

To make sure you stay up you have got to have a run of around 5 games where you pick up a good return of points if you look at the teams which went down they never had that and it was lucky for West brom and Villa that they faired onlly marginally better.

So for me it matters who and when you play teams as once you start putting results together it breeds the confidence, but saying that at home we should not fear anyone

Hope not. Another dodgy owner throwing money at the club - plus the dodgy 'arry. They deserve to stay where they are.
