I loved seeing him swagger around the pitch aha, just looked like a gangster in a football shirt.

'Gloriously inept' would be the best way to describe him.

Wife beating may be socially acceptable in Sheffield, but it is a different matter in Cheltenham

not busting on old Claude, but this direct quotation from his player bio is priceless!

"Upon leaving [Derby County] he was described by one commentator as the club's 'worst major signing' in its history"

one of the worst players ever to pull on a palace shirt!!

I wouldn't go that far, although you were never quite sure what big Claude was going to do next...

I completely disagree. You always knew exactly what Claude was going to do, he was going to nail the centre forward, whether he got the ball or not.

Employee of the month is a good example of how someone can be both a winner and a loser at the same time.

loved the story of a young wilf running rings round him in training , winding him up , I wouldn't like to have been in a headlock from claude .

whoever said he was the worst player are way off the mark , I`ll see your claude and raise you a neil Ruddock

interviewer " iggy , do you think you influenced anybody?"
iggy pop " I think I wiped out the 60`S "

Seemed to be suspended for alot of the time...he did see red alot. Not gifted and not great, but did put the effort in.Thought he was at Crawley ? Good luck to him...but personally want the O's to win that one.

The off the ball incidents were totally unnecessary. A talented defender would not need to resort to such tactics.

Well, Calvin Andrew stood a chance of getting to Wembley too. He was playing for York v Fleetwood in a Div 2 semi-final last night. Sadly York lost and Calvin's big moment has gone. I remember him running around the Selhurst pitch like a headless chicken. He had enormous commitment but a sad lack of technical ability. We loaned him out to various clubs including Brighton and Leyton Orient. I've just checked his stats and he has played nine times for York as a striker without scoring. That followed 15 matches at Mansfield with just one goal. Apparently he scored four times for Palace in 50 appearances. Anyone remember any of those goals? Or anyone got a favourite Calvin Andrew moment?

The right place at the right time

One of my favourite Palace players of recent years was Claude Davis - an uncompromising defender and big personality who Dougie released.

Anyway, he seems to be doing OK at Rotherham who are through to the Div 1 Play off final v Leyton Orient, having triumphed over Preston.

He didn't play tonight, but a trip to Wembley nowbeckons.

Good old Claude!

Claude is now 35 and hasn't been a regular in the Rotherham side this season. He came on a sub in the first leg at Preston, was named sub in the second leg but never made it on to the pitch.Perhaps Rotherham will decide it is time for him to move on.
