Devastating news. Was only talking to him the other day as he was asking me to wear a 'vote for staffie' tshirt at Wembley tomorrow, probably the only thing he ever asked me for, normally the other way around! Huge loss for this site, nobody has helped/contributed to this site and us posters more than he. Such sad news. We'll all miss you terribly.

The number of messages on here show the depth of what staffie offered us. Shocked, saddened and thankful in equal measure. RIP

Some lovely tributes on here. Again, I did not know him but you could tell by the effort he put in and the manner with which he replied to requests and questions that he was a true gentleman. Rest in peace staffie. Thank you for your continued contributions to the site and the palace community.

I'm stunned by this news I've been a member of this site for about 13 years now and in my whole time, I've never seen anybody who was so loyal, passionate, helpful and selfless as staffie and this is a massive loss, not only to the HOL but to the world. As a few people have said, I spoke to him over PM as well and he, without question, regularly used to supply me with links to the cricket and rugby league as well as obviously with the football links. I am so shocked and it really is a death in our family, I do hope we can mark his passing at the club, he contributed so much to life on this site quietly and with such generous efficiency.
