They've just been spreading lies about out local soon to be closed local hospital too - moving it to another town half the size - saying it's what the district wants when not one person had given the thumbs up to it that I know of apart from some GPs and the Authority.

Petitions signed aplenty against closure but to no avail and now they are saying the people want it to happen.

Fvckers.

What we need is more highly qualified Filipino male nurses (preferably named after 1940s American film stars).

Thought you might like to hear of my lastest NHS experience.

Outpatients at Epsom Gen. Hospital said they would be arranging an appointment for a CT scan. Got a call today from Ashtead (private) hospital to say Epsom scanner very busy and I had been referred to them for scan. When would I like it? Tomorrow? Yes fine!
Next days service - free car park - what's not to like. Presumably cost effective for NHS.

PS: For who it concerns. I have had excellent treatment from the NHS including cardiac surgery & life saving A&E treatment. However I do not have a problem with the NHS 'outsourcing' non critical care.

I had exactly the same experience with a knee problem. As you say, what's the issue.

The Queen visits an NHS hospital and is shown a ward where men are sitting up in bed wan*ing. What's going on here she says. It is a post-vasectomy ward marm, testing to see that they can still perform.

She is shown another ward where men are getting blow jobs from the nurses. What's this then, she asks. Another post-vasectomy ward marm, but they are all in BUPA.

You obviously have no problem with your/our money being taken from necessary services only to line further the pockets of those who are already rich, because 'they know best' and have the control.
Did you skip 'kermits' post? Did you miss the PO privatisation and the cunds who pocketed millions of your money?
Obviously.

I had a problem and the NHS sorted out. Would it have been better that I waited a long time for it? (I don't spend a huge amount of time reading Kermit's posts, can usually guess what he is going to say/repeat.)

First, the NHS is not a religion. It can be criticised. It is about to implode. It can't be afforded in its current form and that will get worse as the demographics work against it.

Second, read the damn posts. There are many activities within the NHS that can be done better, generally as a result of having better IT in place. There is considerable activity from CCGs where they are trying to get operating efficiencies through tendering specific activities. Sometimes the bids are won by the NHS and sometimes by private companies so you have the opportunity to test who is strongest and cheapest.

Even when won by private companies in many cases there is a role for the NHS. It's just that the part about organising the activity is given to a specialist organisation that focuses on it and in particular has far superior IT systems. What's not to like? Do you begrudge a private sector organisation that makes the health service work better at a lower price taking a profit? If you do one can only assume you never studied logic.

As everyone, I love the NHS. It's fantastic. But you can't just say it's unimpeachable and you can't assume it's best at everything it does. That simply could not be true.

I have experienced private and nhs care/treatment and really there isn't that much of a difference.

You see the same people with both but the benefit of private is you tend not to have to wait so long for the referral appointment.

nhs people that get put to private like was the case with a few people in here does not cost nhs any extra the private care has to see so many nhs patients it's a bit like when new houses are build so many have to be social housing.

I am not claiming the nhs is great far from i have had some very bad experiences and still do but for what it is it really is the best health care in the world (been so under funded which hasn't helped and too much not about patient care but you are a number)
