however I once bought a brand spanking new citroen van and it was sold as scrap before the year was out after major parts failed(which were not covered under warranty)

I would say accountants are up there as well. I remember a few years back waiting for a Tax rebate, I got a letter off the Inland Revenue saying that my cheque had been posted to my accountants. Anyway a week went by & nothing from the accountants so I called in on my way home from work to ask about it only to be told they had banked it and that it would take '10 Working days to clear' factoring in weekends & Bank Holidays the cheque took close to a month to get to me.

If you're round here, then I can do no better than to send you to Clive and the boys at Blackhorse Lane Service Station, SE25. I've gone through two cars with them and they will look after you. No doggy unnecessary work. If something does need doing they will pohne you up and discuss anything first setting out your options.

Builders are a mixed bag. Try to have work done via a recommendation from family or friends. There are quite a few cowboys.

Some of these Car Warehouse type places are/were well dodgy.

I went to one in Wales and reserved a car to pick up a week later after I had sorted out my finances. I asked them to sort out the radio security code for when I returned.

The next week I rocked up in Wales and asked to see my car again... it was a totally different vehicle but had the same registration number! I knew it was different as the new one had a sun-roof which the other didn't. When I pointed this out to the salesman he just shrugged and said "Well, you're getting more for your money now!"

I walked away.
