Why would anyone chose to be a Seagull? The Eagle is a far superior creature. The Seagull lives under it's damp pier meekly looking out, blinded by the sheer quality of the Eagle's palace. |

The problem with Rhodes is that he scores most of his goals with a striker alongside him (a bit like Gayle). It's interesting that no premier league sides have taken a gamble on him.

Austin isn't even on half that, he is still on his original contact he signed at qpr in the championship.

Very good observation, and I wonder if the underlying reasons are similar to why Austin hasn't been signed too as let's be honest, 15 million quid for a proven goalscorer is not a lot of money in today's football world. It seems to me that Prem clubs would rather either go to Europe/South America or buy very young talent from the lower divisions, but there is almost no market for the 25-28 year old, proven track record, lower division goalscorer who twenty years ago would have been a big signing.
