Hi All, Off to Indonesia for a 3 week holiday in a few weeks. The idea is a few days North in Sumatra to jungle trek, then 2 and a bit weeks of Bali, Gili Islands and Lombok. All I've booked is return flights and the rest in terms of hotels and internal flights I will sort whilst I'm out there. Anyone got any tips on things to do and places to avoid?

Emirates are great, no worries there. As far as domestic flights are concerned, there are 63 carriers operating in Indonesia. 59 of them are banned from flying in Europe. I suggest you stick to the other 4.

In Northen Sumatra don't miss Bukit Lawang (Sp?) There is an oranutang centre there where they release them back in the wild, you can see a feeding then you go tubing down the river for hours. Top place, this was over 20 yrs ago so you better reseach if its still the same
