Apart from Jamiemarten 721 has anyone ever fully read one and if so thought f*** that I don't like the look of paragraph 67 subsection 77k, 'I'm not signing that" or do you just scroll down like most of us and tick the box irrespectively......

I think most of them leave you with no choice but to sign. If you want any kind of service, you have to allow or put up with, all kinds of intrusion. I read the agreement when I got BT Vision. After reading it I felt like I just couldn't agree to it and refused to sign. They wanted to send all my details and data to lots of different companys that I had nothing to do with. I found that the only thing I couldn't get on my box was a search feature. The rest worked fine. I always try and read them now.

I do read them...most of the time anyway. It's why I'm still using Windows XP. The later versions all have a disturbing intusive element in how much Microsoft can make use of your details and on-line behaviour. Ditto Google Chrome.

I will be honest, I have actually read one, but it was specifically work related, as we need to identify exactly what was covered by the supplier.

It does seem to be unfair in terms of law and 'free mind', that you generally will have purchased the goods prior to being presented with the EULA, at which point arguably you're committed to proceed. Yes, having just paid fifty quid for your software, I find I have an issue with the EULA, and will now spend the next two months trying to get a refund.

Yes, having just paid fifty quid for your software, I find I have an issue with the EULA, and will now spend the next two months trying to get a refund. I know of a case where a person went to a car rental company and when he was presented with the rental agreement he amended the part that stated the length of the rental to indefinite, signed it paid the fee and left with the car. When the company reported that the car had not been returned as per the standard agreement, it was reported to the police. However because they had allowed him to take the car under the amendment that he had made, it could not be reported as stolen, it was determined to be a civil dispute. He kept the car for over a year. It can work both ways.. But rarely.

My job can be very boring. I need to determine if we as the third party supplier, or the software provider, were responsible for the provision of support to an end user client, as we had adapted the software provided for integration purposes. And that was as interesting as that day got.
