I went there several years ago but did not stay long in the city, while there though you have to go visit the Capilano Suspension Bridge. I don't care how old you are it is great fun and make sure you have a camera handy.

Been to Vancouver several times as have family there, love the place to bits, I would recommend it without hesitation, like any big city there are one or two places to avoid, gas town in Vancouver is a lively place but does have a drug problem, but it's a great city.

What are the best areas to stay ? We have been offered a hotel ( River Rock Casino in Richmond), but this appears to be near the airport. We will be staying for 5 days and want easier access to the sights. Any ideas ?

There's plenty of cheap hotels on Burrard, if you go to downtown. Also, if there, you could get a bathtub boat taxi to a market under Burrard bridge. There's so many nice things to do there, you'll just be happy to be there! Hire a bike and go round Stanley Park. Capilano Bridge has been mentioned. I could go on, a lifetime wouldn't be enough if you included all of British Columbia! Go!

always gets voted in the best cities in the world , I went to wistler a few years ago , really wanted to stay in Vancouver as I heard so much about it but didnt. the countryside from Vancouver to wistler was stunning Edited by richard shaw (og)65 (28 Oct 2015 8.42am)
