Tottenham apparently dropping interest until the summer, if he does move surely we're near the top of the list now. Just a matter of what he wants to do and if we can pay both asking price and wages. (£15m seems to be what we're eyeing up)

Doesn't look like his club want to sell him. He is one of the clubs only 2 legitimate strikers I think I read somewhere, so I'm not sure we will be able to get him in January anyway. By summer, someone is bound to come in with a bigger offer

People happy to spunk a fortune on an unknown but Austin is unproven?? If we are going to sepnd a lot I would hope we would go for someone with PL experience. We aren't yet at the position we can afford expensive flops, cheap / bargain foreigner fine, spend big then I would want to minimise any risk of failure

I seem to remember France going out of some international finals in the last decade or two due to being unclear on the above concepts!

1. The great passes he was getting Not saying he's cr@p or not an upgrade, BUT, I really do wonder how a youtube of Gayle or even Campbell would've looked if it was either of them in that team with those awesome passes and cr@ppy defenders (and the music)... FFS...I'd be well cheesed if we spunked 15m on him in favour of PL proven predators like CA.

I very much doubt we where ever seriously interested as soon as his club slapped that ridiculous price on him to be honest

It's hard to believe that such a highly rated player could come to the Crystal Palace I've been watching all my life but maybe times are changing and it's possible we moving into this type of bracket. The signing of Cabaye has already proved we are already in this kind of bracket
